Hayden Panettiere: I Struggled With Body Dysmorphia as a Teen

Hayden Panettiere on the October 2012 Women's Health Magazine.

Growing up in the spotlight hasn't always been easy for Hayden Panettiere.

When she was just 16 years old, a tabloid magazine published a photo of the Heroes star's backside with the word "cellulite" plastered across the image.

"I was mortified," the Nashville actress, now 23, tells the October issue of Women's Health. "It gave me such body dysmorphia for so long. But I remember reminding myself that beauty is an opinion, not a fact. And it has always made me feel better."

Even so, Panettiere's profession has made the 5-foot-1 actress keenly aware of how her body looks on camera. To stay in shape, Panettiere regularly takes the stairs and often attends Bikram yoga classes. And though she loves eating healthy foods like egg whites and strawberries, the Whaleman Foundation spokeswoman doesn't follow a particular diet. "Eating healthy is a constant battle. I love chips," Panettiere tells the magazine. "I find when I'm overly concerned about what I eat, I stress out my body and put on weight."

Perhaps most importantly, Panettiere says she looks her best when she feels her best.

"People can tell when you're happy with being you and when you're not. It's only cheesy because it's true," she tells Women's Health. "As I've gotten older and grown into my body, I've started realizing that the way you carry yourself and that light coming out of your eyes are the most attractive things about you."

PIC: Justin Theroux Shows Off Super-Buff Arms!

Justin Theroux in New York City on September 12, 2012.

Jennifer Aniston is one lucky woman!

The Friends actress' fiance, Justin Theroux, 41, showed off his buff biceps while wearing a sleeveless tee in New York City's East Village neighborhood September 12. Carrying a backpack and motorcycle helmet, Theroux looked more in shape than ever before.

To stay fit, the Your Highness actor "runs a lot," a Theroux source told Us Weekly earlier this year. "He's a kind of 'train yourself' type."

While Aniston, 43, is busy shooting We're the Millers in Wilmington, North Carolina, Theroux has been spending time in Manhattan, where he's lived for more than a decade. On September 8, the tattooed screenwriter sat in the front row during the Alexander Wang fashion show at Pier 94. As director Rupert Sanders' model wife Liberty Ross stormed the catwalk, Theroux chatted with Ninja, lead vocalist of the South African rap group Die Antwoord.

Theroux, who first met Aniston on the set of Tropic Thunder, reconnected with the actress while filming Wanderlust in 2011. He popped the question on August 10, 2012 -- his 41st birthday.

According to an Aniston insider, the bride-to-be would love a "destination wedding, kind of like eloping with a few friends." Though no date is set, an insider told Us, "There will be the feeling of a vacation, since that's their favorite thing to do."

11 a.m. Four days a week, Simpson reports to trainer Harley Pasternak for a 45-minute session. "Her waist is going in, and her thighs are growing smaller," says Pasternak.

12:30 p.m. If it's Wednesday, she weighs in at home with her mom and pals.

1 p.m. "I make lunch my biggest meal to keep me full through the day," she says. One favorite: spinach salad with 4 ounces of chicken satay and pear (8 PointsPlus).

Jordin Sparks' jaw-dropping new bikini body is definitely something to sing about.

During a recent getaway to the Bahamas with boyfriend Jason Derulo, the singer/actress showed off her 50 pound weight loss -- which she first debuted last summer -- in a sexy, printed bandeau top and black bikini bottoms.

Earlier this summer, the Sparkle star, 22, opened up to Us Weekly about how she lost the weight -- and how she's successfully kept it off.

"There is no secret," the Season Five American Idol champ explained "It's just better eating and working out! It's definitely a daily thing."

One of her favorite ways to stay fit is with high-energy dance classes like Zumba.

"My mom's best friend is a Zumba instructor and I loved it," she said. "I started with walking then went to jogging and then Zumba." In addition to her cardio-heavy classes, "I started [working with a trainer] and we did 30 minutes of circuit training," Sparks revealed. "So I didn't feel like I needed to be in the gym for two hours."

Sparks' hard work has paid off big time; this summer, the pop star donned a bright blue bikini on the cover of August's Shape magazine.

"I could only dream of having a cover and looking like that," she told Us. "I thought, 'I did it!' I had to walk back to my dressing room and . . . pull myself together because I was overwhelmed. I cried. I shed a little tear."

The Fashion Star mentor is slated to make her first public appearance since giving birth four months ago during a chat with Katie Couric on the TV host's new talk show Monday.

Last week, Simpson opened up to Us Weekly about her success using Weight Watchers so far.

"I'm 10 pounds away from my pre-baby size," said the singer/designer, who got up to 170 pounds while pregnant.

In addition to adhering to the popular point-based eating plan, Simpson said she's working out four times a week with celeb trainer Harley Pasternak.

"Her waist is going in, and her thighs are getting smaller," Pasternak said of his A-list client's progress so far.

Though she still has a little bit of work to do before she's back to her goal weight, Simpson is confident she can make it happen. Now that she's a mom, she told Us, "I believe I can do anything!"
